Objective

The Discipline Committee is constituted to maintain discipline, decorum, and a conducive academic environment within the campus. The committee ensures adherence to institutional rules, ethical conduct, and professional behavior in accordance with university regulations, PCI norms, and institutional policies, fostering a culture of responsibility, respect, and integrity among students.

Roles and Responsibilities

1. Maintenance of Discipline

• Ensure orderly conduct of students within classrooms, laboratories, hostels, library, and campus premises.
• Promote adherence to institutional rules, codes of conduct, and academic discipline.

2. Monitoring and Supervision

• Monitor student behavior during academic activities, examinations, co-curricular events, and on campus.
• Coordinate with faculty members, class in-charges, and hostel wardens for continuous supervision.

3. Preventive Measures

• Create awareness about disciplinary rules and consequences of misconduct.
• Encourage ethical behavior, mutual respect, and professional values among students.
• Prevent incidents related to indiscipline, misconduct, or violation of institutional norms.

4. Complaint Handling and Inquiry

• Receive complaints related to indiscipline from faculty, staff, or students.
• Conduct fair, impartial, and confidential inquiries into reported cases.
• Ensure that students are given an opportunity to present their explanation.

5. Disciplinary Action

• Recommend appropriate disciplinary actions such as warnings, counseling, fines, suspension, or other measures as per institutional rules.
• Escalate serious cases to the Head of Institution or relevant statutory authorities, when required.

6. Counselling and Corrective Measures

• Counsel students involved in minor disciplinary issues to promote positive behavioural change.
• Recommend corrective actions aimed at reform rather than punishment, wherever appropriate.
