Objective
The Gender Sensitization Cell is constituted to promote gender equality, dignity, and mutual respect among students, faculty, and staff. The Cell aims to create a safe, inclusive, and non-discriminatory campus environment, free from gender bias, harassment, and exploitation, in line with UGC guidelines, constitutional values, and institutional policies.
Roles and Responsibilities
1. Awareness and Sensitization
- Organize awareness programs, seminars, workshops, and campaigns on gender equality, gender justice, and respectful behavior.
- Educate students and staff on gender rights, responsibilities, and legal provisions.
2. Prevention of Gender-Based Discrimination
- Promote policies and practices that ensure equal opportunities irrespective of gender.
- Prevent gender-based discrimination, stereotyping, and biased behavior on campus.
3. Safe and Supportive Environment
- Encourage a campus culture that respects diversity, inclusivity, and dignity of all genders.
4. Grievance Support and Referral
- Provide guidance and support to students facing gender-related concerns.
- Refer complaints related to sexual harassment to the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) as per the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013.
5. Student Engagement and Empowerment
- Encourage participation of students in discussions, debates, and activities promoting gender sensitivity and leadership.
- Support initiatives that empower women and marginalized genders through education and awareness.
6. Monitoring and Reporting
- Maintain records of activities conducted and awareness programs organized.
- Submit periodic reports to the Principal for review and compliance
